The Bottom Meat is the product Vexed built its name on: a glow-and-UV jig head, a hand-tied Japanese assist cord and a Harbor assist hook that take a whole squid or a strip of fillet to the bottom fast and land it sitting upright, where the snapper, blue cod and hāpuku are. Vexed calls it the first reef-fishing hybrid jig-and-bait system of its kind, and it is fished from 20 grams in the shallows to half a kilo on the deep drops.
The Micro Meat and the Bottom Worm Circle take the same idea down to soft baits and small strip; the Deluxe adds a bigger skirt and the Bottom Sack holds berley or a soft bait in a mesh pouch on the same rig.

Vexed Fishing started in Australia in 2006, in its own words 'by a guy who is inspired by Japanese tackle technology and not just passionate, but obsessed with fishing'. The range is built around demersal fishing, the Dhu Drop and Dhu Slow slow-pitch jigs, the Dhu Inchiku, the Dhu Head and Dhu Bomb jigheads, and named for the dhufish of Western Australia, which in New Zealand means snapper, hāpuku, bass and cod.
Every jig in the range comes rigged out of the packet with a flashy octopus assist, and every colour is laced with glow and UV for the depths it is meant to be fished at.
